Brill recently celebrated the publication of our special fortieth-anniversary volume of Muqarnas at its Leiden office.

It was a bittersweet occasion, however, because it was also a retirement party for production editor Gera van Bedaf, who shepherded twenty volumes of *Muqarnas* to publication. We are very grateful to Gera for all the attention and care she has given *Muqarnas* over the years.
